Screenmedia heads to Umbraco Codegarden

Later this month we’re heading to Odense, Denmark to attend Codegarden, the biggest international Umbraco conference in the world.

Organised by Umbraco HQ, the core team behind Umbraco CMS, Codegarden isn't just a developer conference; it combines technical, creative, and business events over the course of 3 days, and last year attracted over 600 attendees. During this year’s event, we’ll be looking to find out what’s new and upcoming with Umbraco, as well as attending the Official Umbraco Awards 2019, where we’ve been nominated in two categories!

Innovating with Umbraco

Umbraco 4 was good, Umbraco 7 was great, and Umbraco 8 is even better. During several business and technical sessions, we’ll be learning all about the latest features in Umbraco 8, migration from past versions of Umbraco, and the current ecosystem, including viability for enterprise customers to upgrade to Umbraco 8 in 2019. This will also give us a chance to learn more about the Umbraco Headless CMS, the latest cloud offering from Umbraco built for omnichannel content distribution to multiple devices including websites, mobile apps, store displays, chatbots and IoT devices.

We’ll also be learning about a new ecommerce solution, Continued (built with Umbraco as a major component), for building an infrastructure to circulate and track unique products with RFID chipping. Reducing environmental impact by establishing the lifetime of products, and developing revenue models across the lifecycle of a product are just two potential benefits of this new approach.

With more talks ranging from machine learning and AI integration options from Microsoft Azure, to White Hat UX, Umbraco powered chatbots and augmented reality experiences, we’re very excited to take part in this year’s event.

In addition, we’re delighted to announce Screenmedia is also up for two awards at the Official Umbraco Awards 2019, the annual awards ceremony that takes place at Codegarden:

• Umbraco Award for Best Editing Experience: Scotland Food & Drink
